A tattoo gets them in trouble… He will get them out.
After years of cultivating an undercover identity, Brody West is finally off the case and free to live a life of his own. All that time spent in the company of criminals and killers left him a little jaded… and with an identity crisis. He isn’t sure who he is anymore, or who he wants to be.
To give him time to think, he takes a few days off to go fishing. On his way out of town, he makes a routine stop at the bank and finds himself flirting with the girl behind the counter.
But his flirtation is cut short when criminals burst into the bank and shoot her right before his eyes.
In attempt to administer first aid, Brody reveals a tattoo on his back. A mark that will drag him and the girl into the kind of situation he was trying to get away from. But he can’t walk away because he’s the only thing capable of keeping Taylor alive and bringing down the guys who shot her—guys who are seriously dangerous.

Brody is an undercover cop, and has been deep undercover for some time. Taylor works at the bank her father owns, working her way up. when Brody visits the bank, he flirts shamelessly with Taylor until.....they find themselves in the middle of a robbery! Taylor gets shot, trying to defend herself and the bank, and as Brody sees to her gunshot wound, he strips and reveals a tattoo that will cause them all sorts of trouble! this is the first book I've read by this author, and I WILL be going and finding more! it has action, sex, a smoking hot hero, a beautiful (Brody's words, not mine. he calls her beautiful) heroine, an idiot hell bent on destroying Brody, and Taylor, AND, (because this is part of a set) a happy ending! it starts right at the beginning, with Taylor calling 911 with the robbery in progress, and grabs you, and DOES NOT LET GO!!! the tension coming out the page was so much, I could almost taste it, and the sexual tension between these two??? it builds, it doesn't happen right away, and I loved that, some books just throw the leads together. not here. its actually over half way through before they actually, quite literally, come together! since this is part of a set, and I have not read them, I was worried I would miss something, however, this seems to be a related set, rather than a follow on set, and there does not appear to be any reference to previous books, so its all good! it covers much of Brody's past, the undercover bit, so its all explained. it is written from both Brody and Taylor's point of view, and I loved that, all too often we get HER point of view and not his, and I do like to know what HE is thinking, especially here, as Brody's mind and body deals with his reaction to Taylor, in all ways! and Taylor...she is a strong woman! bought up with money, yes, but she is not a spoilt brat, her reaction to Brody is OMG HOT, but, as they are thrown together in such an adverse situation, she does not fall apart, she holds her own, even managing to fall in love while she is at it!! I'm trying to talk myself out of giving 5 stars, i'm a bit mean with the 5 button, however, I cant. so....5 super sparkly stars!

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than thirty books. She went to college for a bachelor's degree, couldn't pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair. She currently resides in North Carolina. Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she'd rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house). Cambria has written within the young adult and new adult genres, penning many paranormal and contemporary titles. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense. A few of her most recognized series are: The #Hashtag Series, The GearShark Series and the Take It Off series. Cambria Hebert owns and operates Cambria Hebert Books, LLC.
