Ambushed (Dark Reflections #3) by Dean Murray

Young Adult, Paranormal, Romance

Adriana Paige has survived not one but two vampire attacks in less than twenty-four hours, and unless she's able to master her ability to share other people's dreams, the attacks are only going to get worse. Taggart has promised to train Adri, but he's got even more enemies than she does and there's no guarantee that he'll be able to keep her from being caught in the crossfire. More than anything else, Adri wants to talk to shape shifter Alec Graves, but he's gone strangely silent. There's no way for Adri to know if that's because he's no longer interested in her, or if it's simply because he's still on the run from his ruthless father, Kaleb. As enemies both new and old start closing in on Adri, she's starting to worry that she might be forced into choosing between Taggart, the man who saved her life, and Alec, the guy to whom she feels inexplicably connected.

4 out of 5 (very good)
The third book in the Dark Reflections series continues with Adri and Alec's stories as they try to survive in their crazy world. Adri is learning more about the world that she now lives in, as well as trying to learn how to master her abilities from Taggart. They have to keep on the move as Taggart is always aware of how easy it would be for the Coun'hij to catch up with them. He tries to help Adri learn how to control her abilities but is also giving her the space to decide how and when she will use her powers. Alec is trying to survive. He is on the lookout both for his father, the Coun'hij and also any vampires or werewolves that might be lurking. Not only that but there are also the packs that are loyal to Coun'hij. So life is pretty busy for him. This story moves along at an incredible pace and there is a lot of action in this book. The separate lives of Adri and Alec do join together but probably not in the way you were expecting. However, it is just perfect for this story and how it is playing out. I have enjoyed all of Dean Murray's books, whether they be Reflections or Dark Reflections and can highly recommend them to all. Brilliant writing once more.

Dean Murray is a prolific author with more than 28 titles across multiple pen names and more than 470,000 copies of his work currently in circulation.
Dean started reading seriously in the second grade due to a competition and has spent most of the subsequent three decades lost in other people’s worlds.
Things worsened, or improved depending on your point of view, when he first started experimenting with writing while finishing up his accounting degree. These days Dean has a wonderful wife and two lovely daughters to keep him rather more grounded, but the idea of bringing others along with him as he meets interesting new people in universes nobody else has ever seen tends to drag him back to his computer on a fairly regular basis.
