Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

This is the second novella, which falls inbetween The Witches (book 2 ) and The Royals (book 3) of the main trilogy. It can be read without the others, but I would strongly suggest that you DO read them, in order. It will give you a much better picture of whay it means to be Anathergian. Gunner is the resident tech geek. He is happy in his role and can hack into any and every known system known to man. On a trip to meet with friends, he finds Nadine's sister has been kidnapped. Together they use their considable skills, both technical and physical, to find her, then rescue her. But all the while, attraction simmers. Anathergians can only Lifemate with one of there own. They know this. But it doesn't stop them taking their pleasure in the females that are human. And that, kidnap aside, is very much what Gunner is doing here. Nadine is very pleased with the turn of events, but also knows there will be nothing else. I did like the little bit with the locket. Makes me wonder! It runs a similar, or maybe a fraction longer length, to Nico, about an hour and a quarter for me, making it firmly a novella. But thats all good, its a keep-you-hanging-on-til-the-next-main-book-comes-out sort of book :-) So, short and oh so sweet, but it carries a theme that some readers may find disturbing. Human Trafficking. While the girls are rescued, they still have suffered. So it is filed on the over 18 shelf for that, and that only. And I wonder if one of THOSE girls will pop up in a later book. AND I also wonder should Double T find himself in a book?? OH, the questions, the questions! I love it when a book, short or long, has me questioning whats going to come. I like being proved wrong when things turn out differently to what I expected, and equally, I adore being proven correct in my musings! Thank you, to Michelle for my copy, not for review, just because she is such an awesome person :-) 4.5 stars Now, book three???
