The poetry is very well written and hard hitting. One poem in particular about Mel's friend, I won't say more as I'd spoil it, is extremely detailed and shocking to read.
That said I can't say it was entirely my type of thing, only because it seemed a little too dark. Though the fantasy work was really interesting.
It does span a number of years with some teen anger / angst.
I can imagine a number of teen or YA readers would find some identification with it. On the whole I'd say it was a four star rating.
The story is the first chapter of a YA book, and I would like to read it, as it seems to be skipping back /forward in time. The way it's written gripped me straight off!!
