Four years ago, Billy broke Savannah's heart by telling her he didn't love her and left to join the army. Now Billy is back, broken and damaged, but determined to right the wrong that has tormented his heart and soul for the last four years, while he was deployed, and to make Savannah his again. I usually write reviews for audio books by writing about the story first and then the narration. I can't split it here because part of my enjoyment of this book was the outstanding narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. The story itself is short but h so sweet and sexy, full of pain and angst but equally of love and hope. Its very well written from both Savannah and Billy's POV. Its only short, in length and time span through the book, 3 hours and 12 minutes, 90 pages for reading, but it carries it shortness extremely well. Kai Kennicott narrates for Savannah and Wen Ross for Billy. Kai also does ALL the female voices and Wen does ALL the male voices. I need to mention this point here because I have only listened to one dual narration before and it wasn't what I expected. In that book, when the female narrator was having her say, she did ALL THE VOICES, male and female, in her chapter and the same for the male narrator. HERE it flows, from one voice to the other, from chapter to chapter, from Billy to Savannah, from Kai to Wen and back again, so beautifully. I LOVED the narration of this pair! This is the first work of Garcia's I've read, and also the first of this pair of narrators. I will look to read more of Garcia's and will certainly look out to listen to Kai and Wen's dual narration again, ESPECIALLY if it of Garcia's work. Thank you, Ms Garcia, for my copy, I spent a very enjoyable afternoon in Billy and Savannah's company. 4 stars for the book (BUT only because its so short!) 5 stars for the dual narration, 4.5 stars overall.
