One of America’s most reclusive rockers, Ryder Vaughn, gets an unusual sentence handed down to him. The judge, hoping to teach him the value of human life, sentences him to ten months of community service at Reach Within Centre for individuals with special needs. Ryder is convinced that, if he isn’t crazy already, he will be by the time his sentence ends. However, his only other option forfeits his band’s livelihood.
Five minutes after stepping into the centre, his entire life changes when he meets a gorgeous, little spitfire who will challenge everything he has ever believed about himself and the world around him. Francesca's devotion has always been to her family, friends, and the job she is passionate about. Her life hasn’t been easy. She sacrifices a lot for the ones she loves and for her dream to visit Italy.
Then Francesca finds herself in a desperate situation, and the tattooed beast who is serving his debt to society must save the headstrong woman from a secret that could destroy her. In turn, Francesca teaches Ryder, if you love something enough, it’s worth fighting for.
Ryder knows he isn’t worthy of love, but this incredible beauty makes him want it.
Ryder can save Francesca from her secrets, but can she save him from his? Is Ryder strong enough to endure the kids she loves and her crazy Italian family?
Ten months can fly by or it can last an eternity.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
This was such a heartwarming, swoon worthy story! It’s bad boy meets innocent angel. It’s perfect. I LOVED the story.
So, I’m not going to lie, the male lead, drove me absolutely bonkers! There were many times I wanted to just smack him across the head. His attitude at the beginning was horrendous and I really wondered if he was going to be able to be helped. I was pleasantly surprised the female lead really whipped him into shape. It might have taken a while for it to happen but when it does you hear the heavens open and angels sing, haha!
The overall vibe of the story was absolutely heartwarming. There was negativity that was swarming the characters at times, but the goodness that comes out of the work that the male lead is forced to do will give you goosebumps. It’s like an “ahha” moment when he realizes that these are people too and they deserve to be treated as people and nothing but normal.
Details and descriptions were chilling at times. My heart broke for these characters and my heart sung for these characters. I had all sorts of feels during my time reading this story. It was such a well written, overall positive story, that you just can’t pass it up! I recommend grabbing a copy immediately.

The Rocker Lifestyle Be Damned
My interpretation of a lot of famous rock stars is that they are confident, often spoiled, self-centered individuals, that believe the world revolves around them. I believe we as fans perpetuate this behavior by accepting it and buying into it.
Lyrics Heart & Soul is not about the rocker lifestyle. My book is about what happens when you are stripped of their famous identity and meet people that have to fight for everything they have. Individuals that are judged without a second thought. The most overlooked people in the world. Special needs teenagers. These kids aren’t the poster children for their afflictions. You won’t see them in cute adds. These kids are real deal, the ones with multiple disabilities, the ones society can’t look in the face. These are the kids everyone says if I was like them I wouldn’t want to live. Well guess what they do live and they fight for everything breath they take. They’re raw, funny, and loveable.
Who better to go against an over-blown ego of a rock star, then a bunch of special needs teenagers that have real life problems. These kids see the world how it is, plain and simple. They will tell you exactly as it is, with no sugar coating. Their honesty is refreshing and often humorous. Life has taught them who to trust and who not to. Anyone that has earned that right, treasures it. If you are lucky enough to work with these special teenagers, you will learn the real meaning of life. Ryder learns these lessons when he is sentenced to spend ten months of community service working with these special kids and their teachers.
Ryder is reclusive because he loves to make music but doesn’t want the fame that comes along with it. Lots of money is a wonderful thing to have IF you have people to share it with, Ryder doesn’t. Then Ryder meets Francesca. She has no use or time for famous people, she has more than enough to deal with. Her family and job come first and foremost.
The kids she works with trust and love her. She offers everything she has to her close-knit circle and Ryder decides he wants a piece of Francesca. Ryder isn’t good with people but he is good with lyrics and uses words of songs to speak for him.
Honest words or actions can change the world but can they change a man harden by life? Can you teach someone to love? Or do you show them?
