Sacrificed To The Dragon by Jessie Donovan

Fantasy, Romance

In exchange for a vial of dragon’s blood to save her brother’s life, Melanie Hall offers herself up as a sacrifice to one of the British dragon-shifter clans. Being a sacrifice means signing a contract to live with the dragon-shifters for six months to try to conceive a child. Her assigned dragonman, however, is anything but easy. He’s tall, broody, and alpha to the core. There’s only one problem—he hates humans.

Due to human dragon hunters killing his mother, Tristan MacLeod despises humans. Unfortunately, his clan is in desperate need of offspring to repopulate their numbers and it’s his turn to service a human female. Despite his plans to have sex with her and walk away, his inner dragon has other ideas. The curvy human female tempts his inner beast like no other.

NOTE: This is the entire first story arc of the Stonefire Dragons (Parts #1-4), complete with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

Melanie trades herself to be a Sacrifice to the dragon. It might well cost her her life, but her brother needs the dragons blood to cure his infection. Tristan, however, is not best pleased that his turn has come around to deal with a human female and mate with her. His dragon is more than pleased with Melanie!

I do love me some dragon shifters, and if they have their own little twist? Perfect.

And thats just what this little 4 book set is. Just darn perfect!

The dragons revealed themselves in the 1980's and have used their healing blood (but not cancer) in exchange for a Sacrifice. A female to spend 6 months with a male dragon until she becomes pregnant. But the birth could kill her and the baby. Its all very scary and dangerous for Melanie but she has spent time studying the dragons for college.

When she arrives on Clanlands, Tristan is her assigned male and he makes no bones about his hatred for humans. His dragon is much less against the idea, indeed, he recognises Melanie as his mate, his true mate. Very rare thing!

I loved Mel standing up to Tristan, but also for Trsitan. Their interaction is funny, but equally hot and sexy. I loved Mel's ability to enbed herslef with the other humans and Tristan's Sister, Ara, who shares his hatred of humans but justifibly so.

From what I can gather with trawling Amazon and Goodreads, this was originally published in 4 small parts. To be honest, I'm so glad I didn't come across them like that. I loved that I was able to read all of Mel and Tristan's story in one go and not have to wait. It would have drove me nuts, waiting!

I've wishlisted Seducing The Dragon, which is Clan leader, Bram's story and I will wait til Ara's full story is available, but I WILL read them.

Love love loved it!

Jessie Donovan wrote her first story at age five, and after discovering the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey in junior high, realized that people actually wanted to read stories like those floating around inside her head. From there on out, she was determined to tap into her over-active imagination and write a book someday. After living abroad for five years and earning degrees in Japanese, Anthropology, and Secondary Education, she buckled down and finally wrote her first full-length book. While that story will never see the light of day, it laid the world-building groundwork of what would become her debut paranormal romance, Blaze of Secrets. In late 2014, she officially became a USA Today and New York Times Bestseller. Jessie loves to interact with readers. When not reading a book or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, can often be found on Facebook. The one thing you'll find in all of Jessie's stories are strong, capable women and the people who love them.
