Lenni lives on the civilised side of the wall, a hard worker who follows the rules. He's super-fit and healthy, with everything he could wish for; an office, app-friends, and enough medications to suppress the extraneous. Like everyone in his country, Lenni’s safe. So why does the big, handsome guy cry each night? What of his aching heart and empty arms? When supervisor Lion offers a place in Bite Club, why would Lenni jump at the chance to cross the forbidden wall? Fighting? It doesn’t make sense. Maybe that’s the whole point.

Mino lives on the wild side, with untamed hair and oh-so-gentle hands. He understands about the desperate people who sometimes make it over the wall, and of the ancient deal between governments which established the whole façade. It’s got nothing to do with him. Until the day his people force him into the circle to confront the guy from the medicated side. Very soon, everything clever Mino knows becomes as meaningless as dust. Nobody can appreciate what it is to be needed, even loved, until it hits them right between the eyes.

When Lenni and Mino are thrust together in the Bite Club circle, both men are shocked and confused by what happens afterwards and by the raging thirst ignited within them. Is it Bite Club, or snuggle club? In the end, you don’t have to talk about it to understand.

4 out of 5 (very good)

BITE CLUB is set in the same post-apocalyptic world divided in two by a wall as WHEN THE GLOW LIGHTS THE WOODS. Lenni comes from the other side of the wall, where they exist on 20 tablets a day and apps for everything. He goes to Bite Club because he needs... something but has no idea what. When he meets Mino, his world turns upside down as he gets what he needs before it gets taken away once more.

To be honest, I found this to be quite a sad story. To be so touch-starved and full of drugs that you hallucinate? Not a life I would like. I would have liked to have learnt more about Lion and just why he approached Lenni in the first place. He seemed as though he wanted to help but only so far.

Mino and Lenni are good together but you just don't get enough of them! This was a fast read that I would have loved more from. The story itself is all there, I just wanted more.

Different from the first book but still a great read and recommended by me.

Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Eule Grey, author, has travelled all over and settled, for now, in the UK. Her mind, however, is often up in the clouds or away with the fairies. Some might call her fey!

Eule loves books, pets, and happy endings. Adversely, she also enjoys reading a creepy horror story, though she isn’t very brave.

Best of all, Eule adores creating cuddly, sparkling romances. She also writes all kinds of other queer stories and refuses to be squeezed into only one genre—she just isn’t tidy enough!

Eule currently writes for NineStar Press and JMS Books.
