Sarah Field lives alone with her dad, a teacher at her school. The two of them share a close bond and, unusually, both have the same birthday, which they also share with Sarah's grandfather, who died when Sarah was small. Sarah knows very little about her grandfather, and her dad insists on keeping it that way.
However, one night, Sarah finds her dad acting in a mysterious way and also hears strange noises after her dad has gone out. Sarah's friends come to the rescue to help her investigate, and they make a shocking discovery. Someone is living in the attic! And that someone is none other than Sarah's grandfather! But, this is no ordinary grandfather...
With the discovery of her grandfather comes the question as to whether Sarah has the power to give life to the amulet - the Telum Deos - that will help to fight the forces of darkness.
4 out of 5 (very good)

You have Sarah who lives with her dad. She is just an ordinary teenager with 3 amazing best friends that support her through everything.
Sarah's been doing a project for school to write something interesting about herself so she puts that she was born on the same day as her grandfather, she then queries with her father as too whether he has any information on her grandfather to have the evidence for her teacher to be shut down and told to stop asking questions a typical don't want to talk about it. Her and her dad have a few arguments over the next few days.
As well as the arguments, her father's behaviour is peculiar and distant. One night when Sarah's on her own after being grounded she hears peculiar sounds and is absolutely terrified calls on her friends and ends up in a lot of trouble.
Sarah finds her grandfather who has been living in the attic and just happens to be a vampire! Him and her father explain everything that's been going on and why its been kept a secret.
Its down to Sarah and her 3 friends to save the world.
I loved this novel, there's a few peculiar things in it. Tom Hanks and Carly Rae Jepson at a basketball game, why not? It is perfectly balanced in my opinion.
I was rather disappointed when I got the end I could of carried on reading it for months. I would be more than happy to read more like this.
4/5 stars fantastic!
