Rick isn’t looking for an omega or beta—will a Bucket List Buddies event find him his perfect match?
Rick, an alpha bear, once upon a time, worked the rodeo circuit, now he’s content working in the florist business with his best friend. Or so he thought after he takes a chance and some unsolicited advice, and buys a ticket to a “Cowboy for a Day” event.
Ian, an alpha honey badger, seeing his best friends find their mates, yearns for what they have. Just he has a secret—he wants an alpha, not some sweet omega. Given a ticket to the next Bucket List Buddies event, Ian grumbles and complains. Except cowboys in tight jeans and Stetsons, what more could an alpha ask for?
Finding they are mates is the straightforward part for Rick and Ian. Discovering common ground between them is something else when Rick rekindles old friendships, and his dangerous past come with old scores to settle.
Will Ian and Rick get their HEA, or will a bull called “Devil” take it from them?
Dusty Ropes and Rusty Spurs is book 4 in the Bucket List Buddies Series, where riding the bear has a whole new meaning when love connects two alphas and shows them size does matter.

4 out of 5 (very good)
DUSTY ROPES AND RUSTY SPURS is the fourth book in the Bucket List Buddies series. I would recommend you read them all, as there is an overarching story between Sven and Remy. If you don't want to read them all, then I would say at least to read Book 3, A Ballooning Display, as characters and situations from that book come up in this one.
This review is a tricky one for me. There were certain parts I loved, and certain parts I didn't.
Rick is a fantastic character who knows what he wants and isn't prepared to settle for anything less. I honestly loved him from the beginning. It took me longer to warm up to Ian. I get being a people pleaser; trust me, I do, but he took it to the nth degree, and was then surprised when his family wasn't immediately on board. Don't get me wrong, his family were a lot to take, and I can't say as I particularly liked them.
And then there was the rodeo part. On the whole, I loved it. Rick had his reasons, plainly stated, and was doing it on his terms. I know the path to contented matedom isn't always smooth, and on the one hand, it was good that it was a work-in-progress. On the other hand, though, it felt like it was unnecessary angst.
I am so disappointed that Remy and Sven didn't manage to meet. I am on tenterhooks, waiting for that meeting, so my heart broke for poor Remy. But I also love being made to wait!
This was a solid addition to the series, and definitely recommended by me. 3.5 rounded up.
** Same worded review will appear elsewhere. **
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book; the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Where does one start with about what I do?
I’m a writer, but I’m sure you guessed that by now if you’re reading this, hey?
What you might not know is I’m a little quirky, live in my pj’s most of the time and have cake Saturdays with my sisters every week. I dedicate a little of my time to taking care of my grandbabies and on the dedicated writing days, I like to write an eclectic mix of romance, suspense and paranormal fantasy. In the main, I’ve written gay romance but I’m branching out under another the pen name in the future, so watch this space.
I’ve got a passion for books like you would not believe and it led me down this path and now I’ve over 29 books released and heading towards releasing a whole lot more. The way my head is I never know where I’ll be headed next. I hope you’ll find a little joy in my words and follow me to see where the journey takes me and you.
If you’re interested at some point in 2021 I’ll be writing under the name JP Paton which will be F/M crime and Fantasy two of my favourite things. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Lisa Oliver started self-publishing her MM Paranormal Fated Mate stories back in 2014 - and she is still growing strong. Now, with over a hundred titles written under her own name and numerous collaborations as well, Lisa has branched out a little bit from the Fated Mates genre with her Another Arranged Marriage Series, but every single book Lisa writes comes with a "you will smile at the end of it" guarantee.
Living in New Zealand, Lisa is often distracted by the goings-on at the dog park she can see from her office window, but she's still writing full-time and loving every minute of it. Her grown children and grandchildren pop in often, tempting her away from her computer with lots of hugs. Lisa is still addicted to chocolate, so that works as well.
Lisa Oliver is one of those authors who loves to hear from her readers and other authors. Recently, she's repurposed her YouTube channel to help others make a living from self-publishing the way she does. Her readers can contact her through various social media platforms and email (yes, you can just email me, and I will respond).
