Sierra Kanoska fought hard for her position as wolf alpha of the Red Rock pack, and intruders in her territory receive the full brunt of what her claws, fangs, and smarts can accomplish. So when Dax Williams, de facto alpha of the Silver Springs pack, pays an unwelcome visit, Sierra’s ready to toss him out. However, the man's in a tough spot. The pack elders sabotaged his fight for alpha against his brother, driving him from his lands. Sierra hates underhanded moves like that, so she agrees on an alliance. As they work together, she witnesses an alpha who wants to do right by his pack, not just the cocky wiseass she first met. Their growing attraction blazes hot, but the moment she and Dax lock lips, a mating bond emerges. Sierra sure as hell isn’t ready to share that intimate connection with a stranger, and the thought of forever sends Dax running. Before they can talk, the Tribe commanding the East Coast shifters arrives to settle the dispute. Dax and his brother's punishment for their pack's civil war is a free-for-all on their lands. Not only does he have to defeat his brother, but any challenger in the region. Despite Dax and Sierra’s initial resistance, his wily charm relaxes her control-freak tendencies while her steadfast support bolsters his strength. Yet every new opponent places their newfound relationship under siege—one misstep, one wrong blow in the ring, and Dax could leave in a bodybag.

Independent Reviewer for Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Sierra worked hard, fought hard to get her position of Alpha of Red Rock pack, so when Dax tells her why he needs her help, she can't say no. The fact that he is a cat to her wolf, and that the mating bond flares bright between them, she can't see his pack fractured they way it has been. Then the Tribe arrive to oversee the dispute, and Dax finds himself in a fight for his life. I read McIntyre's Philadelphia Coven Chronicles and I loved them but this one way surpasses those and there were two 5 star reads in that series!! Sierra is a true Alpha female and she has the support of her pack when she comes to Dax and his pack's aid. Dax is impressed, not only with her skill and wisdom as Alpha, but in Sierra, the woman. Their chemistry is hot and heavy and it burns brighter once the mating bond kicks in. It's sexy, it's bloody, it's full of kitty/dog jokes. With some laugh out loud moments, some OMG moments, some heart breaking moments and some bone breaking moments, this book was just what I needed!! It's extremely well written, from both Dax and Sierra's point of view. There is no massive info dump you sometimes get with first books in new series, and I love that. Makes it easy to keep up! A few secrets thrown in that I didn't see coming either. All in all, a super sexy, super needed 5 stars

A modern day Renaissance-woman, Katherine McIntyre has learned soapmaking, beer brewing, tea blending, and most recently roasting coffee. Most of which make sure she’s hydrated and bathed while she spends the rest of her time writing. With a desire to travel and more imagination than she knows what to do with, all the stories jumping around in her head led to the logical route of jotting them down on paper. She writes novels with snarky women, ragtag crews, and guys with bad attitudes. High chances for a passionate speech thrown into the mix.
