Gladstone’s influence takes on an international flavor when Jack leads a team to Mexico in search of the Lost Pack—and his relatives! Hidden for generations, the isolated group of Lobo shifters includes three young men, chosen by Luna for a unique purpose that no one could have imagined. Prompted by his dreams, Jack brings them to Michigan for an unexpected mating and the resumption of a forbidden practice that will rock the shifter community.

Meanwhile, amid new building projects, Lou’s campaign for Sheriff, and more new pups, Gladstone welcomes a pregnant male Omega who has escaped his abuser. Evan has little time to help the mistreated man prepare for a life-changing introduction, because ready or not, his mate is due to arrive home in a few days! Will patience and a bit of True Elder assistance enable the pair to form a loving bond and bring healing to both?

Don’t miss the action, intrigue, humor, and romance of your favorite shifter pack in ASCENDANT MOON! (Book 6 of the Gladstone Shifters series. Contains steamy M/M content.)

4 out of 5 (very good)

ASCENDANT MOON is the sixth book in the Gladstone Shifters series and you really need to have read everything before this one.

There is so much going on in here - the lost pack is found, a male omega is abused and impregnated due to the 'new' knowledge being used against him, new True Elders, new mates, new rules. So hold onto your hats, as it's a lot to take in.

As always, this was a gripping read. If I had any complaint, it would be that sometimes it is hard to remember just who is with whom, as there have been so many couplings and throuplings, it gets a little confusing.

I am always happy to return to Gladstone and the amazing, intricate stories that unfold there. Definitely recommended by me.

Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Write What You Know? Well, not so much…

Though I’m sure Mark Twain (1835-1910) meant well, this old chestnut is entirely too limiting—particularly for writers of fiction. There’s an entire world of knowledge at my fingertips that simply wasn’t available to authors of Twain’s day, and when a robust and creative imagination is added to basic research, you’ve got yourself a recipe for great stories.

I’ll admit that personal experiences make frequent appearances in my books, as it’s impossible to completely divorce myself from what makes me, me. When I add what can be learned from outside sources, however, “what I know” takes on new meaning. Samantha Hoffman put it this way:

“As writers we use our own thoughts and ideas and experiences in our writing. We incorporate discussions with friends, family history, newspaper articles, movies that inspire us, overheard conversations...those are all things we know. We don't have to experience those things personally to know them. We have imagination. We have Google. We make up things and write what we don't know because we're writers.” (*)

When I first began my author journey, research became one of the favorite parts of creating a story. Learning new things is a lot of fun, expands my mind, and gives me terrific ideas for future works. Of course, my readers benefit just as much, since they get to enjoy believable and authentic tales that aren’t limited to “what I know.”
