Alicia is Ivy's best friend. Joshua is a member of Blackbird Security. He is also a shifter, a huge black panther to be exact. When Alicia's life is threatened, Josh goes into full on protection mode. His wolf knows who she is, and he just needs Alicia to make a decision, to mate with him or not? Oh I do love this pack and its people! I really do. We have met Alicia and Josh before, Alicia even know Josh has an alter ego. She met him in Ywelve Days. Dahlia does not disappoint, in this book 5 in the series. It helps to have read the other books in the series, but not really necassary. It helps to understand what the pack has been through in the last 18 months. It helps to know who is being talked about, even though they don't appear in the book. It also helps for you to understnad Dahlia's sense of humour. Cos this is FULL of that humour, delivered in a way only Dahlia knows how. Lots of kitty jokes, lots of jokes about bunnies in a stew pot, and lots of jokes about possesive, protective alpha males, or gits, as they are commonly called! Alicia and Josh's relationship has been brewing for 18 months since they first met and the cat in Josh knew who Alicia was straight away, it just took the man a while to catch up. What I particularly liked was the decison Josh made. No sex until Alicia had made HER decision. No sex until she had said yes to their mating. Lots of teasing, oh yes! If she said no, Josh would be heart broken, both him and his cat, but if she she yes, both knew it would be amazing! And while they do get their mating, its not as down and dirty as Natasha. Its there, but not in-yer-face. And as much as I like books that are more explicit, this is one of those fabulous books that doesn't need it. Full of those one-liners I've come to expect from Dahlia and her pack. 4 stars

Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. She prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. An autistic and occasional hermit, her life wouldn’t be complete without her husband and her massive collection of books and video games.
