An alpha werewolf chasing his dream meets an omega fighting for his life in a strictly temporary marriage of convenience... Alpha werewolf Beau Jeffries has been going it alone ever since he was cast out of his pack as a teenager for trying to help a human and endangering the pack’s secrets during the tumultuous years when the wider world was learning the truth about werewolves. He hasn’t lost his drive to help others, and he’s about to begin a prestigious medical residency--only to learn that, as the first werewolf the program has knowingly accepted, he’ll have to follow special rules, including the one that requires him to be married when he begins his residency. Omega werewolf Roland Lea is just trying to survive. After escaping the last and worst in a string of abusive relationships that left him scarred and unable to conceive, he’s found safety in a refuge for homeless omegas. But despite the help he’s getting at the refuge, he just keeps getting sicker instead of better, further and further from being able to make it on his own. When he’s offered the opportunity to sign up with a mate-matching agency, he figures he has nothing to lose. No alpha is ever going to want an omega like him. When Beau sees Roland's profile, he knows at once what's making the omega sick, and he's determined to help. If he can persuade Roland to marry him, he can save Roland's life while Roland helps him get through his residency. But will their hasty partnership be enough to bring them both through what's ahead--and can temporary necessity lead to a forever love?

Beau is the first werewolf to be accepted as resident. It’s his dream placement. But it requires him to be married. So, he turns to an alpha/omega matching service to find a husband. Roland is omega and has been badly treated. The refuge is a great help, but he is still getting sicker. Beau sees Roland, really SEES what the problem is, and knows he can help. But will Roland accept a marriage offer, even though it might only last a few years?

This genre is growing on me, the m-preg thing, it really is!

Beau doesn’t want a husband, but he needs one. Roland doesn’t want an alpha. But he knows he must try something, or he will die. Beau being a doctor is an added bonus. Beau being the sweetest alpha I’ve ever come across is another bonus!

That’s why I've tagged it warm and fuzzies, because while this carries some darker lines, the relationship between Beau and Rory (as he likes to be called) is delicious! It grows and develops at a lovely pace, and it’s so bloody sweet! Beau knows what Rory needs, and makes Rory see WHY he needs them. But doesn’t force anything on him, nothing at all. And it takes time for Rory to see that, to see that Beau really does care.

Rory’s past doesn’t come out all in one go, but you get hints and snippets. Just enough to give you clues and ideas, but it’s really NOT fully disclosed. Beau pieces together the clues Rory gives out, just as we do. It is bad, hence the darker tag, and needs to be mentioned, but I think there might be more to come.

It's well written, from both Rory and Beau’s point of view. The romance grows well and is well delivered. The sexy times between them are also well written, and creeps along in its intensity. Great build up to the main event!

I did find it a little . . .jumpy. . . .in places but I’m not sure if that’s Beau and Rory or the author. First I’ve read of this author, so I really can’t say.

However, Dessa Lux is now firmly in my crosshairs, and I will be continuing with the series just as soon as funds allow.
